William Andrew Rippey Campbell – age 19 – Able Seaman (P/CD/X 2880) H.M.S. Express, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.

On 31 August 1940 a group of destroyers sailed from Immingham on a mine laying mission off the Dutch coast. The “Express” struck a mine and was badly damaged. William was reported missing.  (Source: uboat.net and naval-history.net)
