Wilfred Hulme Cooke – age 28 – Sub-Lieutenant, H.M.S. Quebec, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.

Wilfred completed his education at Glasgow University where he graduated with an M.A. Honours in 1935. (Source: Glasgow University Roll of Honour)

HMS Quebec was the shore base part of the No.1 Combined Training Centre at Inveraray in Argyllshire. Its role was to train army and navy service personnel in small landing craft amphibious warfare. Wilfred was killed during Operation Jubilee, the “Dieppe Raid” (Source: combinedops.com)
