War Memorial

Whitehill School War Memorial

As we approach the centenary of the armistice signing which ended the Great War in 1918, we have been working together with The Scottish Military Research Group, to add to our knowledge of those names listed on the memorial which remains on display in the entrance area of the school.

The group has been able to establish information concerning most of the soldiers who lost their lives in the conflict which are slowly being listed to be retrievable alphabetically. There will eventually also be a list concerning those who fell during World War II between 1939 and 1945.

We would be happy to receive any additional information which you may have on family members who are listed, or any corrections you consider appropriate.

Please contact webmaster@whitehillfp.org.

Thanks are due to Richard Bell who initiated this work and to Anne Anderson of the Scottish Military Research Group who carried out the investigations and prepared the reports.
