McBride, Edward Joseph, Corporal, No. 3004, 9th (Glasgow Highlanders) Battalion, the Highland Light Infantry (Territorial), eldest son of John McBride, 43 Finlay Drive, Dennistoun, Glasgow, Gut Manufacturer, by his wife Mary, daughter of Edward Mullen; born Uddingston, Glasgow, 28th October 1894; educated New Douai College*; High School, Glasgow and Technical College there, where he was an Analytical Chemistry Student when war broke out; joined the 9th Highland Light Infantry in September 1914; served with the Expeditionary Forces in France and Flanders from 2nd November following and was killed in action at Mazengarbe 3rd October 1915. Buried there. Unmarried.
