Second Lieutenant William McGhee (killed) was the son of Mr and Mrs McGhee, Morrison Villa, Tollcross, Glasgow and served as a private n the Scottish Rifles before being Gazetted to the Fusiliers. Educated at Whitehill Higher Grade School, Lt. McGhee prior to the war was a Customs and Excise Officer in Glasgow. He was 25 years of age.
