Major Alastair H. Soutar, M.C., Royal Engineers (wounded and missing), is the eldest son of the rev. Alex. Soutar, First United Free Church, Thurson. He joined the Army shortly after the outbreak of war and has been about three years on service at the front. Mr. Soutar’s second son, Lieutenant Frank Soutar was killed in action and his third son, Lieutenant David Soutar is a prisoner of war in Germany.

The Rev. Alexander Soutar, First United Free Church, Thurso, has received intimation that his eldest son, Major Alastair H. Soutar, M.C., Royal Engineers, has been posted wounded and missing. He joined up shortly after the outbreak of war and has been about three years on service in France. Mr. Soutar’s family has given most patriotic service since the war began. He has himself given lengthened service with the troops at home and overseas, while his second son Lieutenant Frank Soutar was killed in action in Mesopotamia and his third son, Lieutenant David Soutar is a prisoner of war in Germany.
