John Mackenzie Beaton – age 29 – Flying Officer/Navigator (144343) 467 (Royal Australian Air Force) Squadron, Bomber Command, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

John was commissioned from Aircraftman (4059037) in May 1943 and promoted to F/O in November. His Lancaster bomber took off from RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire for a raid on Stuttgart but was shot down and crashed at Pforzheim. John was buried there but was re-interred in Durbach in April 1948.
