Leslie Wylie Black – age 38 – Gunner (1826537) 21 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery.

The regiment sailed from the Clyde in December 1941 and arrived at Batavia on Java in February 1942. British forces surrendered in March and Leslie became a prisoner of war, PoW No. 2433.

Leslie was moved to Sanadakan in Northen Borneo in April 1943 and died near Borto during a forced march “of malaria”
