Robert Gunn – age 21 – Private (14286028) 1st Battalion, York and Lancaster Regiment.
The battalion fought through Sicily and on into Italy, landing at Reggio di Calabria in September 1943. Robert was killed during the battle to cross the Garigliano river, north of Naples.
