William Linton Hannah Bain Landies – age 22 – Pilot Officer (162160) Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

William was commissioned from Aircraftman (1682058) in January 1944. He was killed whilst flying in a Harvard of the No.62 Air School at Bloemspruit Aerodrome in South Africa. The aircraft lost a wing and crashed at Maiselspoort near Bloemfontain.
