George Riach – age 20 – Pilot Officer/Pilot (141465) 78 Squadron, Bomber Command, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

George was commission from  Sergeant (1369268) in February 1943. His Halifax bomber took off from RAF Linton-on-Ouse in Yorkshire for a raid on Essen but crashed near Munchen-Gladbach. George was buried in the Town Cemetery but was re-interred at Rheinberg in July 1946.
